Hello...I have a crazy question. What is the difference between an MT and an IC?

An MT is a medical transcriptionist. An MT can be an employee or self-employed. An IC is an independent contractor. In our case it is a medical transcriptionist who is self-employed and has to pay his/her own taxes, Social Security, equipment, etc.

kkb,

Thanks for the reply. I am a Medical Secretary/MT in a Nursing Home and just recently joined this forum. The initials had me stumped. I appreciate the help.
