A friend of mine wants to look into MT. All I could tell her is "don't go with AHP!". I know that nuance hires new graduates from Career Step, MTEC Inc., or the Everett College programs. Do any of you know anything about those programs? Do you know of another one that is great?
Thanks smile

Hi,

The best place for your friend to do is to go to www.ahdionline.org to see the list of the AHDI-approved schools. These schools have been evaluated by people in the MT industry (transcriptionists and business owners) to ensure that they meet the minimum standards of AHDI. Notice the word minimum, which means that even on that list there are some schools that are better than others.

Also, schools teach differently--some have more involvement with students than others. That could influence your decision also. Find the school that best fits with your learning style.

Careful research and thorough investigation is the key!

Thank you very much. I let her know, I'm sure she'll appreciate it.

I have disdain for them. They wasted my time and my money and didn't give me a good education. Also, very few people want to hire an AHP graduate. It stinks but it's true. They are a business and they're in it for the money they make. I wish I hadn't signed up with them so I would never suggest that someone else go there.
Most people on MTgab who went there feel the same way as I do.

That doesn't sound to good for me, I am almost done with their course. I am on quiz 32. Hopefully I will have good luck.
