I am nearly finished with my course through At Home Professionals and was interested to know if anyone at MT Gab has been employed that has graduated from AHP.

I graduated from AHP in December and I am still looking for work. If you don't have a connection through someone you know, it is really tough to find a job. AHP is not accredited through AHDI and a lot of big MT companies will not hire you. So its a little tough I think trying to find a job. I'm a little disappointed in AHP. They make it sound like there is so much work out there for us. Well there is, just not for entry-level employees. Good luck with the job search. I still have hope that I will find a job eventually!

I graduated from AHP at the first of the year, received my diploma dated January 4, 2012.
I too, am looking for work. Am finding the same issues as daniger is: Most places require at least one year of experience & the fact that AHP is not accredited by AHDI, is not helping either. Of course that was not brought up at the seminar. Figured out that I did not do enough research on schools B4 I started with AHP. I am not going to quit looking, just am practicing my typing, trying to improve my speed and reviewing dictation from school, so my "ears" do not forget how to "hear".
Good luck to all that are out there searching for jobs. Keep us posted. Have a good evening. wink

Ditto to both posts above. I graduated in August of 2011. Looked and applied on-line for months. Have recently given up. I called the school because I had read a post about getting your money back....NOT!! The graduate counselor told me that I need to look for a job further from home....that wasn't the point in taking a course where I wanted to work from home. I feel that the seminar was very misleading. I hope others have better luck finding a job than I did.

I feel the seminar was VERY misleading. Know I have learned much over the time from this course. BUT that does not help me get a job. I doubt if I would recommend AHP to anyone asking me. It is just not the way they made it sound at the seminar. Guess I should have done EXTENSIVE research on schools B4 signing up. eek

I agree with all of the above posts. I just graduated a couple weeks about but am finding the same road blocks. I could swear that in the seminar they even did say that the school was accredited. It just seems odd to me that so many of us had the idea that they were accredited and that we would not have an issue finding work. I am very disappointed and wouldn't recommend the school either, even though I have learned alot. If we can't find a job what good does the diploma do us!

Keep us posted if you are successful in obtaining work after you receive your certificate.

AHP graduates that I've seen here worked hard to find employment and yet are still not obtaining work.

I my town, we have 2 major hospitals. Only 1 is hiring for MT's and you need 3 years actual experience before you can apply.

Just my personal thought that I've related to all posts to this point. I haven't finished Course 5 yet - and have worked in between the course, so it's taken me a bit longer than anticipated.

It will be interesting if I'm successfully employed myself after graduation.
