Has anyone worked for or currently work for ABS med in B.C. Canada? I started working for them in mid September and still haven't received a payment and am starting to get worried, they say they pay monthly and are a month "behind" but I think I really should have got a cheque by now. don't want to keep bugging them. Also when I started I had lots of work and then it just dwindled to next to nothing yet their website still says they are hiring???

Although rare, you may be paid by the 15th of this month. Some companies pay their MTs when they get paid. So if you worked in September and invoiced for that work beginning of October, you would get paid the beginning to mid November. A lot of MTs are afraid to ask up front how much they are getting paid and when so you know exactly what to expect. Ask them for a pay schedule. I just withdrew my resume from a company who pays this way, but I am thankful they were up front about it so I didn't have to waste my time. I hope things work out for you.

Hi winrobw4:

I found this by googling the name of the company:

http://www.scamchecker.com/content/abs-med

Hope this helps--it is just one opinion, don't forget. I found this on the first page of hits--there might be others on subsequent pages.

Wow, thanks, that explains a lot. Just this past weekend they were "desperately behind" and asked me to work and I said "sure", then they didn't send me any work!!! I wasted my whole weekend waiting for them to send me work. I sent them a curt email saying next time make sure there is work so I don't waste my time. I also questioned them about the my first cheque and they said it was "sent out". I live in Ontario and they are in B.C. - let's see how long snail mail takes! thanks again.

Glad to help. I would suggest that anyone looking at a company google it and perhaps put the word reviews after it--that way you won't just get their website. Asking here is also very helpful!

My advice is run,do not walk AWAY from this company. I worked for them for a good chunk of time and they are unprofessional to say the least. I often was correcting THEM on things. The link that winrobw4 posted is a good example of experiences I had, and to say that I had trouble getting paid would be an understatement. The ability to run a business is lacking in many respects, and what seems like common sense in how to do so, simply wasn't demonstrated.
